Welcome to Purely ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users, especially minors. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Purely app.

1. Who We Are

2. Information We Collect

• Account information: Email address, date of birth, and (for minors) parent/guardian email.
• Skin photos: Photos you upload for analysis, stored securely in our cloud storage.
• Skin analysis data: AI-generated assessments including acne type, severity scores, and coverage percentages.
• Trigger logs: Diet, sleep, and stress data you choose to log.
• Routine data: Skincare routines you create or save.
• Usage data: App interactions, feature usage, and device information (only with analytics consent).
• Consent records: Records of the permissions you grant, including timestamps and IP address.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the Purely service.
• To analyze your skin photos and generate progress reports.
• To send you notifications about your skincare routine (with your permission).
• To improve our AI models (only with explicit AI training consent).
• To comply with legal obligations.

4. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Purely is designed for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If a user under 13 registers, we will delete their account and data immediately.

For users aged 13–17, we require verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information. Parents may review, update, or request deletion of their child's data by contacting us at privacy@purely.app.

5. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your data with:

• Service providers: Cloud storage, authentication (Clerk), and database providers (Supabase) under data processing agreements.
• AI providers: Anonymized, de-identified data only, and only with your explicit AI training consent.
• Advertising partners: Google AdSense may receive limited data (cookie identifiers, general location) for free-tier users only. We never share skin photos, health data, or personal care information with advertisers.
• Legal authorities: When required by law or to protect safety.

6. Advertising

Purely displays one advertisement to free-tier users after completing a skin scan. Ads are served through Google AdSense and may use cookies. Premium subscribers are completely ad-free. We never use your skin photos, health data, or personal information for ad targeting.

You can opt out of personalized ads by visiting Google's Ad Settings at adssettings.google.com.

7. Affiliate Links

Purely participates in affiliate advertising programs including the Amazon Associates Program. When you purchase products through links in the app, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Sponsored product recommendations are clearly labeled.

8. Your Choices

Free users see limited, non-intrusive advertisements. Upgrade to Purely Premium to remove all ads permanently. You can also dismiss individual ads for 24 hours using the dismiss button on any ad.

You may also manage cookie preferences using the consent banner shown on first use, or by clearing your browser/app data.

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right to access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
• Right to delete: Request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data ("right to be forgotten").
• Right to export: Download your skin history, journal entries, and analysis results in a portable format (Premium+ feature).
• Right to opt out of AI training: Withdraw your AI training consent at any time without affecting your use of the app.
• Right to correct: Update or correct inaccurate personal information.
• Right to object: Object to processing of your data for specific purposes.

How to exercise these rights: Go to Settings → Privacy in the app to manage your consents and data. For deletion requests or other inquiries, email privacy@purely.app.

11. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

12. Cookies & Tracking

We use session cookies for authentication. For free-tier users, Google AdSense may set advertising cookies to deliver relevant ads. Analytics cookies are only used with your explicit consent. Premium subscribers are not subject to advertising cookies.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
